A few years ago, after multitudes of studies, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Basic to health, for fibromyalgia is a good night’s sleep. After trial and error I follow a natural routine.
Melatonin is a hormone made in the brain. It plays a critical role regulating the sleep cycle. After sleeping pills left me feeling doped all day. I settled on the natural supplement; Melatonin. It helps me fall asleep and wake rested.
Magnesium taken a couple of hours before bed can be helpful.
Have a light snack before bed. Examples are:
oatmeal,
bagel,
apple,
slice of whole wheat bread with lean white meat or a tablespoon of peanut butter.
Do not eat spicy, fatty foods before bed time.
Do away with MSG in your diet.
Do not use any caffeine after 4 PM. Limit caffeinated soda to one per week.
Limit alcohol intake. You will fall asleep, but it will not be a good sleep.
Chamomile tea is a good sleepy time tea. Others teas that might assist in sleep include walnut, callion and squash teas.
Try these suggestions. Natural remedies make for a good night’s sleep.
