Some of the causes of insomnia are more subjective than you might think. We’ve put together a list of questions you should ask yourself if you’re consistently having trouble sleeping and can’t seem to shake that persistent insomnia
Are you worried? – There are a lot of things to keep you up at night but worry’s the most common. Whether you’re worried about work or your safety there are solutions. Make a to-do list in the morning and cross everything off before bed or visit www.securitychoice.com to look into home alarms.
Are you eating wrong? – Ask yourself if you’ve had coffee too recently or if you’ve eaten a big or spicy meal too close to bedtime. Some people find that wine activates their insomnia – narrow down your triggers and try to avoid them.
Are you uncomfortable? – Sure there’s nothing comfortable about tossing and turning all night but could it be the temperature in the room? Your sleeping attire? Your snoring spouse? Identify what’s keeping you up and try to correct it for a few nights. The simplest solution is often the most effective.
